On October 13, 2009, Christina Tobin attended a forum at the CATO Institute in Washington, DC featuring two recently published books on ballot access: Not Invited to the Party: How the Demopublicans Have Rigged the System and Left Independents Out in the Cold by James Bennett, and Grand Illusion: The Myth of Voter Choice in a Two-Party Tyranny by Theresa Amato.

This was the first event the CATO Institute has ever held on ballot access restrictions. John Samples of the CATO institute mentions Christina and her campaign for Secretary of State around minute 28:45 – 29:15.

Christina will host another conference on Electoral Reform this spring. The event will be sponsored by The Free & Equal Elections Foundation, FairVote, Coalition for Free & Open Elections (COFOE) & Citizens in Charge.
